Hummus

Ingredients

To Cook The Chickpeas

  • ½ cup chickpeas, boiled
  • water, as needed

To Make The Hummus

  • 1 tbsp Tahini
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste

To Garnish the Hummus

  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Method

Step1: To Cook The Chickpeas

(1) To a bowl, add the chickpeas. Cover them with water, so that all the chickpeas are completely soaked, and leave them to soak overnight.

(2) In the morning, transfer these to a pressure cooker and cook them till they are well done. Once cooler, drain off the excess water.

(3) Transfer the chickpeas to a blender and add tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper.

(4) Blend it in the blender till you get a thick consistency.

Step3: To Garnish The Hummus

(5) Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Garnish the hummus with cumin powder, black pepper powder, red chili powder and olive oil. Serve fresh.

Note: Hummus can be stored in the fridge for up to 2-3 weeks.
