Multi-Grain Bread

Ingredients

160 gms bread flour

120 gms whole meal flour

50 gms instant oats

2 tbsp milk powder

1 ½ tsp yeast

4 tsp brown sugar

½ tsp salt

250 gms water

1 tbsp oil

25 gms pumpkin seeds

35 gms sunflower seeds

butter, to coat the bread tin

A sprinkle of sunflower and pumpkin seeds and oats to coat the bread

Directions

This is the list of ingredients.

To a bowl, add the bread flour.

Then, add the whole meal flour.

Next, add the oats.

Then, add the milk powder.

Next, add the yeast.

Add the brown sugar.

Then, add the salt.

Finally, add the water.

Give it a mix.

And then, add the oil.

Knead the dough till it resembles the below.

Add the pumpkin seeds.

Next, add the sunflower seeds.

And mix the seeds in.

Let the dough rest for an hour.

Take a oven safe bread bowl.

Brush it with a little butter.

To the bottom, sprinkle some oats and seeds.

Place the dough at the center of the bowl.

Leave it in a warm place to rise until you see an increase in the dough by about 50%.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 45 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve fresh.

This bread stays in an air tight container at room temperature for up to 4 days, and for more than a week when refrigerated.

Notes

  1. You can replace the oats with any other cereal that does not have sugar.
  2. If you want to skip the oats completely, increase with the same quantity of bread flour.
