
Ingredients (for the dough)
250gms plain flour
1tsp salt
88gms ghee
150ml water
Ingredients (for the stuffing)
1 cup namkeen roasted moong dal
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp ginger, grated
½ tsp carom seeds
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp chaat masala
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp kasoori methi
salt, to taste
Ingredients (for the slurry)
1 tbsp cornflour
1 tbsp all purpose flour
4 tbsp water
Method
This is the list of ingredients for the dough.

To a bowl, add the flour.

Then, add the salt.

Next, add the oil.

And give it a good mix.

Finally, add the water.


And knead the dough till it is very soft and pliable.

This is how it should look like when done.

These are the ingredients for the filling.

To a chopper, add the moong dal.

Run it in the chopper for a few minutes and take it out into a bowl.

To that, add the garlic.

Then, add the coriander powder.

Next, add the cumin powder.

Add the chaat masala.

Next, add the red chili powder.

Add the carom seeds.

Add the kasoori methi.

Then, add the salt.

To a pan, add oil.

Then, add the moong dal to the pan.

And cook for a few minutes.

Transfer it back to the bowl to cool down completely.

These are the ingredients to make the slurry.

Mix both the flours together.

Add the water and mix it in completely.


Take out the dough onto your work surface.

Cut it into half.

Take a little dough and form it into a circle.

With your hands, roughly form a circle.

Put a little of the moong dal mixture in the middle of the dough.

Apply the cornflour slurry on all sides.

And form it into a ball so that the moon dal mixture is completely covered with the dough.

Drop these in cold oil.

Put the oil on the heat and let them cook till they turn golden brown.

Transfer onto a kitchen towel to remove excess oil.

Serve hot.
