Coconut Chutney

Ingredients (for the chutney)

1cup coconut, grated

½cup water

1-2tbsp lemon juice

Ingredients (for the tempering)

1tbsp vegetable oil

1 fresh red chili, deseeded and chopped fine

1tsp split urad dal

1tsp cumin seeds

1tsp mustard seeds

a handful of curry leaves (optional)

Method

This is the list of ingredients.

To a pan, add the oil.

Then, add the mustard seeds.

Next, add the cumin seeds.

Add the red chilies.

Saute for a minute.

Then, add the curry leaves and take it off the heat.

To a grinder, add the coconut.

To that, add the water.

Next, add the salt.

Blend it into a smooth consistency, as shown below.

Next, add the lemon juice and mix it in.

Remove the chutney into a bowl.

Top with the tempering mixture on top.

Serve with idli or dosa.
