Ingredients

To Make The Béchamel Sauce

For The Béchamel Sauce, follow the instructions in the link.

To Make The Chicken Parmigiana

  • 1 chicken breast
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese
  • spring onions, to sprinkle on top

Method

Step1: To Make The Béchamel Sauce

(1) For The Béchamel Sauce, follow the instructions in the link.

Step2: To Make The Chicken Parmigiana

(2) Cut the chicken breast into half through the middle and pound the breast till the meat is quite thin.

(3) To this chicken, add the salt, pepper, oregano and flour. Gently, with your fingertips, massage everything into the chicken.

(4) Prepare a station with the chicken, breadcrumbs and beaten egg.

(5) Dip the chicken into the egg. Then, coat it with the breadcrumbs.

(6) To a pan, add the olive oil and bake the chicken on both sides, till completely done. 

(7) Take a clean oven safe dish. To that add the chicken. The chicken pieces should cover the bottom layer of the pan.

(8) Add the béchamel sauce on top of the chicken. The sauce should cover the chicken completely. Add the parmesan cheese and cheddar cheese on top.

(9) Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Carefully remove it onto a plate and sprinkle with spring onions. Serve hot.
