
Ingredients
1 cup white urad dal
½ cup yellow moong dal
water to wash and soak, as needed
½ cup peanuts, crushed
1 tsp cumin
a handful of curry leaves, torn
1 tsp coriander powder
1 green chili, deseeded and chopped fine
2 tbsp coriander, chopped
½ cup onions, chopped fine
¼ tsp baking soda
oil, to deep fry
Method

Soak the white urad and yellow moong dal overnight.

Remove the water and transfer the dals to a chopper.

To the dals, add the ginger.

Then, add the coriander.

Next, add the cumin seeds.

Add the green chilies.

Tear the curry leaves and add them.


Then, add the peanuts.

Add the onions.

Then, add the salt.

Next, add the baking powder.

Give it a good mix.

Grease your hands with a little oil.

Take a little bit of the mixture.

Dip your finger into water and then into the center of the batter to make a hole.

Gently drop the vada into the hot oil.

Deep fry the vadas till golden brown.

Transfer them onto a kitchen towel to drain off the excess oil.

Serve hot.
